We have all met in a cold November afternoon in order to start a project on our own, together with some colleagues from work. To be honest, we didn’t spend too much time planning on how everything will be, but, for sure, each of us was coming with his/her own skills – Silviu with his great camera, Geo as the director, together with her crazy ideas, I was responsible with the make-up (of course) and, the others with various additional comments and contributions. I have to admit I have felt like in a truly photo studio (cool!)

Everything was extremely interesting and had to happen, in a way, very fast: we had to finish pretty quickly, but we just could not stop, from time to time, for a glass of hot wine, or beer and, some of my co-workers for a cigarette. You could swear we were like in the middle of a ‘40s movie.

Here you have a photo of the team:

All of us workmates, ambitious and dedicated, determined to make incredible photos and to have a result as close as possible to what we call nowadays "profy" :)

I have begun my work with a daily make-up, a light one, which fits Ioana incredibly well. She is not used to make-up every day, so all the process has been a relaxation and amazement for her. Ioana has incredible blue eyes, so I have found suitable for her some browns and light-browns. I have succeeded in offering her look extra light and Ioana is happier than ever. She definitely enjoyed the result and I was delighted because of this. She is an incredible child; it definitely has been a pleasure working for and with her.

The second part of our photo session had to be with a more powerful make-up, so I have decided for some “famme fatale look”. The black eye liner and the color painted over it (after the idea of the so-famous and so-wanted smokey-eyes), as well as the lipstick in corai color, have transformed Ioana in a mysterious woman. The child look is gone forever … ah, and I was so pleased with the lights and the old furniture. The music was old and quietly played; the candles and the autumn leaves were all over the floor. So many leaves … A fairytale atmosphere …

My work in photo studios does not stop here.
I promise to come back with other stories as well, soon!

It has been said once that “Nature gives you the face you have at 20. Life shapes the face you have at 30. But at 50, you get the face you deserve” (Coco Chanel)

This beginning seems good to me, even funny sometimes. It is the beginning of a blog and in the same time the beginning of a new road. My road, my way. It is the beginning of my passion for make-up.

Everything has begun suddenly, during a simple discussion about future plans, while I was in the office (well, my actual job is in a total different field from the make-up one), together with my friend and colleague, Cristina. She was the very first person who encouraged me (thank you, Cristina!) to go ahead, trustfully, in this domain, considering (and I agreed with her) that I have talent. Or whatever you call it. The idea is that I love playing with brushes and colors on people’s faces.

This has determined me to go and study this art in a make-up school. It took me some time to decide which one to choose and, finally, I have found what I was looking for, what I found most suitable for me. I wanted something professional, to be satisfied with. And I found. Definitely, I don’t want to discuss about the make-up schools, because this is not at all the aim of my writings … Not that there would be a certain aim, actually, but for sure it’s fun and interesting to write, leave impressions and ideas, discuss your work and wait for opinions on it. The others’ work is not my business. However, if among my readers, there are people who would like to join the make-up world, here’s one tiny advice: head up and trust yourselves!

So: yes, it is possible!

For the very beginning, I will post some photos with me working, so with me “on the job” J. Hope you’re going to like them. The photos are made during one photo session, together with some colleagues from work. The results will be shown in some of my future posts.

Enjoy !
